Bomber Command Commemorations are held in Canberra and most Australian states annually and provide opportunities for Australians to pay tribute to those who did not return from the conflict over Europe in 1939-1945. It also allows for tributes to those who served and have passed on since, and is important in remembering a conflict that Australia responded to with significant numbers of young men and to honour those who served in the Command and contributed to this country’s heritage of service.
